You will find a detailed description of the different Young Focus Child Care projects on the ‘Combat malnutrition’ pages.

Malnourished babies and toddlers need to be helped so that they can develop normally, both physically and mentally – just like ‘our’ children, wherever we live.

It is important to create an awareness among young children in child care centers and schools concerning the living conditions of their peers abroad. Young Focus has put together some teaching material about the Young Focus Child Care Center especially for young children. This material includes a presentation with pictures of the Child Care Center. In this way, children can gain an understanding of what malnutrition means and how they – together with their school and their parents – can help support the running of the Child Care program.

(For Holland only)
Contact Young Focus and ask for a presentation. You can combine this with a presentation and/or the lesson material on the school sponsorship program, which Young Focus has designed for groups 4 to 8.

Your school can also give financial support
Young Focus can collaborate together with your school in setting up a project to involve children and their parents in supporting the Child Care program. This can be a one-off project or an on-going one.

Also, check out the different sponsorship opportunities that Young Focus has set up – under PROJECTS.

A-meal-a-day project
The Young Focus a-meal-a-day project enables your school to provide nutrition for one or more babies. You can determine a goal per class or for the entire school and sponsor a certain number of babies. The average cost for meals and milk is 15 euros ($ 0.65 / £ 0.45 / php 30) a child per month. Your school or class will then receive a special certificate.

Young Focus can provide you with promotional materials for all kinds of different activities you and your school wish to organize.

(For Holland only)
Young Focus has a presentation of the Child Care Center for grade 1 and grade 2. The activities of the day will be explained through a 'powerpoint' presentation.

There is also a video available about the Child Care Center.
