2008 was a very important year for Young Focus. Since 1992 the organization operated in the Philippines via a partner organization, but in 2008 Young Focus began its own center in Manila.
Highlights of 2008:
Beginning to rent the Student Center, which is 2 buildings with 6 floors of 4x9 meters
Complete renovation and setting up of both buildings
April 2008: Opening with Dutch ambassador Robert G. Brinks
Our student coaches and social worker research and analyze the problems faced by our students
Programs, workshops and activities are set up for the students
Youth camp with 120 students from high school and college
Launching of the Young Focus Child Care feeding project
General plans for the beginning of 2009:
Start educational programs
Maintain and expand all data of the 375 sponsored students in Manila and the provinces outside the city
Evaluate and specify more concrete forms of the Young Focus Child Care feeding project
Jungle youth camp with 180 high school and college students
Children's camp with approx. 70 children from elementary school
Decide which colleges and universities are suitable for students finishing high school, who wants to go on to further education
